Sunil Dabas

Sunil Dabbas was born and brought up in Mohammadpur Majra village in Beri tehsil, of Jhajjar district, Haryana, India. After her schooling at her native village, she did her M.A. and Master of Physical Education (MPhEd), from Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak. Thereafter she did her M. Phil from Kurukshetra University, and Ph. D. in Sports Psychology from Agra University.

Currently, Dr. Sunil Dabas is Head of the Department in Physical Education at Dronacharya Govt. P.G. College, Gurgaon, Haryana. She is recipient of Padma Shri- 2014 and Dronacharya Award - 2012.

संदर्भ - राष्ट्रपति सम्मान से नवाज़ी गईं झज्जर की सुनील डबास, गांव की पगडंडियों से कबड्डी कोच बनने का तय किया सफर.

आवाज़ (संजीत खन्ना, झज्जर) 20 जनवरी 2018: आज बेशक लड़कियों को खेलने में ड्रैस कोड को लेकर परेशानी नहीं आती हो, मगर एक समय था जब लड़कियां खेलती थी तो सामाजिक बाधाएं रहती थी। यहां तक की स्कूलों की कबड्डी टीम सूट सलवार पहनकर ही मैदान में उतरती थी। वह भी उनमें से एक होती थी, मगर बाद में जब स्कूल में लड़कियों की टीम में केवल महिला पीटी या डीपीई होती तो उन्हें खेल की वर्दी पहनने का अवसर मिलता था। हम बात कर रहे है झज्जर के गांव एमपी माजरा की सुनील डबास की। डबास देश की उन112 महिलाओं मेंं शामिल है जिसे शनिवार को राष्टृपति रामानाथ कोविंद जी ने सम्मानित किया है। ये सम्मान मिलने से सुनील डबास के गांव में खुशी का माहौल है। हर किसी को अपनी इस बेटी पर गर्व है। बेटी की इस उपल्बिध पर शनिवार को ही उनके पैतृक गांव एमपी माजरा में कब्बडी प्रतियोगिता का आयोजन करवाया गया। सुनील डबास को गांव के युवा अपना रोल मोडल मानते है। डबास ने गांव में एक कल्ब खोला है, जिसका सरंक्षण वह खुद करती हैं । इसके अलाव गांव में एक कबबडी अकेडमी भी सुनील डबास की तरफ से खोली गई है। जिसमें करीब दर्जन भर गांव के लडके व लडकियां कोचिंग लेते है। डबास ने लडके व लडकियों के अलग से कोच की व्यवस्था की है।

गांव की पगडंडियों से शुरु हुआ था डबास का सफर - घर में बड़ी बहन से खेल की प्रेरणा पाने वाली सुनील डबास ने जब से कबड्डी खेलना शुरु किया तो बस इस खेल को जीवन का अभिन्न हिस्सा बना लिया। स्कूल, कालेज, विश्वविद्यालय, अंतरविश्वविद्यालय के बाद प्रदेश और फिर भारत की टीम में हिस्सा बनी और मेडलज व सार्टिफिकेट पाने में पीछे मुडक़र नहीं देखा। डबास की विशेषता यह है कि कबड्डी में आगे रहने के साथ उसने शिक्षा में भी पीछे मुडक़र नहीं देखा। गणित विषय के साथ स्नातक करने के बाद सुनील ने लोक प्रशासन में एमए किया। बाद में फिजीक ल एजुकेशन में भी उन्होंने विश्वविद्याय में टॉप रहते हुए गोल्ड मैडल के साथ पीजी की।शिक्षा पाने की इच्छा निरंतर जारी रही और डॉक्टरेट की उपाधि पाने के लिए पी-एच.डी. भी की। वर्तमान में राजकीय द्रोणाचार्य महाविद्यालय गुडग़ांव में फिजीकल एजुकेशन की विभागाध्यक्ष हैं। पिछले कई साल से डॉ सुनील यहां कार्यरत हैं। पी-एच.डी. के दौरान सुनील ने अनेक राष्ट्रीय स्तर की कांफ्रेंस में पेपर प्रस्तुति भी लोहा मनवाया। देश के विभिन्न हिस्सों में सुनील ने फिजीकल व खेलों के विषय पर अपनी छाप छोड़ी। खास बात यह है कि इस सबके साथ सुनील ने अपने प्रिय खेल को नहीं छोड़ा और निरंतर इससे जुड़ी रही।

कोच होने के नाते भी बेहतर रहा प्रदर्शन - भारतीय कबड्डी टीम का कोच बनने का गौरव इन्हें वर्ष 2005 में मिला। जिसके बाद लगातार वे भारतीय टीम की कोच हैं और उनके नेतृत्व में महिलाओं की कबड्डी टीम निरंतर शानदार प्रदर्शन कर रही है। अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर की प्रतियोगिताओं की बात की जाए तो इनके नाम को टीम ने सार्थक साबित किया। है। वर्ष 2010 में हुए एशियाई खेलों में तथा वर्ष 2012 में हुए वल्र्ड कबड्डी चैंपियनशिप में भी टीम कोच के रूप में हिस्सेदारी की। उनकी अगुवाई में उपलब्धियों की भी लंबी फेहरिस्त है। साल 2005-06 की बात करें तो दसवेंं सेफ खेल जो श्रीमलंकर में हुए थे उसमें भारतीय टीम ने गोल्ड जीतकर इनके नेतृत्व को सार्थक साबित किया। वर्ष 2007 में तेहरान में हुई दूसरीे एशियन चैंपियनशिप में, वर्ष 2008 में मदुरई में तीसरी एशियन चैंपियनशिप में, वर्ष 2008-10 के 11 वें सेफ गेम्स में इसी वर्ष में 16 वें एशियाई खेलों में जो चीन में हुए थे इनकी कोचशिप में भारतीय टीम ने गोल्ड जीता। गोल्ड जीतने का सिलसिला यहीं नहीं थमा, इसके बाद सुनील भारतीय कबड्डी टीम की कोच के रूप में कार्य कर रही है और पटना में आयोजित पहले महिला वल्र्ड कप मेंभीटीम ने गोल्ड के साथ जीत का परचम लहराया।
