Suparna (सुपर्णा नदी) is a southern branch of Godavari River in India. Suparna (सुपर्ण) was a progeny of the gods and the Asuras in the lineage of Daksha.

Adi Parva, Mahabharata/Book I Chapter 59 gives genealogy of Danavas, Gandharvas, Apsaras, Yakshas, Rakshasas. Suparna (सुपर्ण) is mentioned in Mahabharata (I.59.41).[1]....Progeny of the gods and the Asuras....Daksha's, one of the thirteen daughters, Muni had the sons - Bhimasena, Ugrasena, Suparna, Varuna, Gopati, and Dhritarashtra, and Suryavarchas the seventh,....


Suparna (सुपर्ण) is mentioned in Mahabharata (I.59.45).[2]....Prava's daughters and sons - Anavadya Manu, Vansa, Asura, Marganapria, Anupa, Subhaga, Vasi, were the daughters brought forth by Pradha, Siddha, and Purna, and Varhin, and Purnayus of great fame, Brahmacharin, Ratiguna, and Suparna who was the seventh;

The great Asura who was known as Mayura became noted on earth as the monarch Vishwa. He who was the younger brother of Mayura and called Suparna became noted on earth as the monarch, Kalakirti.
