Standardization of Jat gotras

Some Jat gotras have many variants eg. Badhran/Budhrain/Budhrayan. gotras written in this style are not searchable on internet. Also these can not be intrlinked on Wiki media. It has been tried to choose one standard form or most commonly used variant out of these multiple variants to represent that gotra. Other variants have been given links to this standard form. Categorization of Jat Gotras in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh

As on today we have info about 1,291 Jat Gotras in Rajasthan.

Also we have info about 951 Jat Gotras in MP.

This you can know by simply clicking State name in Category at bottom of each gotra.

We have categorized each Gotra based on its distribution into Rare Distribution if particular Gotra is found very sparsely in two or three districts in few villages only. This info may be of great importance why the Gotra has only limited distribution.

In all Gotras of these two states we have put Category No Origin if no source so far tells us about the origin of the Gotra. Members may find list of these Gotras simply clicking such Category. If a Gotra is Categorized as No Origin and you know its origin kindly edit under Origin title to add the origin and remove the Category No Origin at bottom.

Click Category:No Origin you find that 933 Gotras have no info about their origin. You may help to find origin !!!

Click Category:Rare Distribution to know Gotras with Rare Distribution. We have 1,387 Gotras under this Category.

We may do this exercise for other states also !!! Regards,
