Maan Singh Punia
Maan Singh Punia was born on 5th February, 1907 at Kharak Punia village in district Hisar.[1]
Parents
His mother Bhagan Devi and Father Nathu Ram were persons of meagre means as farmers and could not get good education for their son Maan Singh. However, they did not stop his son joining freedom movement.[2]
In Freedom Movement
He started to work for the freedom of the country from the British in 1937 and for his active participation in the Individual Satyagrah Movement started by the Congress in 1940-41, he was punished as rigorous imprisonment for one year.[3]
Honoured
He was honoured by granting Tamar-Patra and pension as freedom fighter by Government of India.[4] Author--DrRajpalSingh (talk) 03:19, 23 April 2015 (EDT)
