Videos at the following links may be useful for a few of our community but interesting for many of us, though the quality of recording needs to be improved a lot! Needless to add that the videos are meant for middle level students of government schools.

Commendable effort Deswal ji.. Videos will be useful for non native speakers.

Government schools must be privatised or just reform current government model in order to make them effective. Otherwise, the government schools will never be able to attract students and hence there will be no contribution to the society. Right now government is pouring money down the drain. A sheer wastage of public funds!!!

I am citing another good post by Sanjeev:

Here's further proof (if any was needed) that

government schools are a disaster
. When even those who teach in government schools don't send their children to government schools, you know something really bad is going on in these schools.

EXTRACT

Out of a reported total of 47,030 primary and middle school teachers in Government schools, 36,322 teachers (77%) were reported to have school going children of their own. Of these 36,322 teachers,

  • 27% (9,757 teachers) sent their children to Government Schools and
  • 73% (26,565 teachers) sent their children to Private Schools. [Source]

Out of a reported total of 50,782 high school and higher secondary school teachers in Government schools, 32,595 teachers (64%) were reported to have school going children of their own. Of these 32,595 teachers,

  • 13% (4,281 teachers) sent their children to Government schools and
  • 87% (28,314 teachers) sent their children to Private Schools.
Conclusion
The case is CLOSED. Government schools must be privatised. I've provided details on how to do this in BFN. It is not as difficult as it sounds. The same money spent by government today will yield FAR BETTER outcomes.

Maine Sarkaari dhanche mei badlaav ka bhi option kaha hai. Jab tak ye Sarkaari Machinery mei change nahi hoga, humme aise hi prinaam milenge. Usme bahut baade fer badal ki jaroorat hai jo ki kaafi samay se nahi hua hai. Us badlaav ke bina Janta ko aise hi choona lagta rahega!!

Sarkaari badlaav samay samay par hote rehne chahiye. Paschimi desho mei bhi ye samasya aati rehti hai ki kaafi paisa Sarkaari schools mei daalne ke baavjood, students ko wo quality education nahi milti jo private schools mei milti hai.. Paschimi desho mei bhi jayadatar logg apne bachhon ko private school mei hi daalte hain!

Yadapee discussion thread ke visaya se dishaheen ho gayi lagati hai tathapi mere vichar se Swal private ya sarkari school karane se hal hone wala nahin hai. Shiksha ka pura dhncha hi bimari ki taraf badh raha hai. Ismein buniyadi restructuring ki zaroorat hai.

Thanks Deependraji for the kind word in appreciation though I doubt I deserve this. I know there is plenty of scope for improvement. Shall try to be better in subsequent attempts.

2. Having visited one of the government schools of Haryana last week and having had a long discussion with one of the senior government teachers yesterday I have some comments to offer on their relevance (as disputed by Shri Atish Mohan). I gathered that the governments-Union as well as the State, are seized of the issue and doing a lot to improve the situation. We also need to keep in mind i) that government schools in southern States are performing better than those in the northern States, ii) that India needs better governance in all the fields including that of education and iii) that need of the hour is focus on development and not growth. I reserve my detailed comments for a new thread on the subject in future as the current thread was not meant for this discussion though the issue raised by Shri Atish Mohan is important.

3.I also wanted to edit my post so the titles of the videos with their hyper links (instead of the hyper links only) could be displayed in the post but the system does not permit editing.

Thanks again and regards

With regard to Conclusion, it can safely be suggested that instead of ending the government schools, mending them may be tried.

India is already spending very less part of of GDP to education, therefore, to save meager amount of GDP in the form of money being spent at school level by closing the government run schools will further bring this spending to lower level in comparison to many a countries. It will poorly reflect on the government's act on welfare activities.

If implemented the suggestion, it will lead to loss of opportunity to poorer sections of society to gain access to education at school level.

Dear Jatlanders,

Next summer, I am planning free classes in English grammar in some village in India. If anyone among you is desirous of having such classes in his/her village please feel free to contact me. The idea is to give back to the society-a kind of shramdaan. Anyone who wishes to involve himself with the project-either as a teacher or as an organizer, is welcome!

2. Also, next video in the series is on 'Conditional Sentences Type 1' that has since been uploaded on youtube.

Thanks and regards
