Is Intolerance in India really increasing ??

One after another who is who is talking of intolerance in India increasing. Quite a few number of people even returned their awards. Latest in the game is Amer Khan of PK fame. After reading news papers and watching TV shows his wife feels insecure in India and thought of moving abroad. I am all with her if her opinion is made purely on the basis of media headlines as we all know how Indian media is playing it up. However, in public I find no increase or any change in tolerance or intolerance. In fact I notice the people a bit more tolerant and better behave during my current India trip. I wonder if these people really feel India becoming intolerant or they are singing this chorus as a part of some political agenda ?

Common people who come out from their homes for their daily routine outings do not feel any intolerance while people residing in big bungalows with security guards are complaining about the intolerance.

It seems that Media, Facebook and other social sites and above all politicians are making India intolerant.

2nd BJP ke kuch leaders ko aapni bhyaan bazi se bach kar rhana chiye... Unki baate sunkar lagta hai unka bhi baap muslim hi hoga. ... they talk like as terrorist
Unki baate kabi kabi terror jasi hoti hai... or media in gatiyaa insaan ki baato ko itna chalta hai din raat bas. debate pe debate. bas fhir kya muslim or virodi party jamkar fayda utate hai.

Baato se hota kuch nahi bas desh ki image ko dhaka lagta hai..
 
Amir Khan's comments were exaggerated. He is entitled to have an opinion but on ground it's not that bad. Infact recent report published by Home Ministry has indicated that communal incidents have dropped in last year and this year compared to previous years. But having said that Modi government must shun leaders who make inflammatory statements which could dent image of India as a secular country. These leaders are doing more harm to BJP govt than its own opponents. Given BJP record on flaring up communal tensions to polarize vote bank, I think BJP must deviate itself from this path of politics. It won't work in long run.
 
"Intolerance" I think is the biggest thing being missed in India. "Mere baap ka Kya jata hai" has made we Indians so tolerant that we accept things. Be it Seculars or Communals both run an agenda and common public suffer. But such statements coming out from a specific religion sect seems more political than real. I hope we get out of this tolerance soon.
 
It is not increasing. In the 70s, 80 and early 90s local level riots in sensitive areas were common. There were severe riots with a lot of bloodsheds too. Faces blackened, threats happened earlier too.

Now the frequency of communal / religious violence is quite low and contained quickly as compared to the past.

However, why it appears to be high is because-

  1. Information- is easily disseminated through various media. Even a single statement of a person goes viral.
  2. News Media- is adept at stoking the communal fire by giving highly charged narratives of incidents.
  3. Political Parties- each part tries to put the blame on the other and fans more communal hatred with their charged statements.
  4. Every tom dick and harry is trying to get his 15 minutes of fame and spewing forth charged statements for and against intolerance.
When you hear about intolerance everywhere you feel it is on the rise.
 

We are stupid enough to insult our own country.

In last two days we just made him right. He just speak and we started to showing up yes we are Intolerance.

It's not about Aamir or someone else, It's matter of our country image at International level. Snapdeal incident even a big break for industry thought. 2nd tourism industry.

Aamir knew that if he will speak this people react like this. So he did this and some foolish made him to succeeded this.


 
Nothing to say as such on intolerance but I em enjoying as Amir is getting what he gave to Jats once in his show.Ironically he is a playing a Jat in his upcoming flick.

On increasing intolerance in our society President of India, Pranab Mukherjee said recently in a function in Gujarat :

President Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday spoke about how the real dirt of India lies not on the streets but in the minds of the people due to their unwillingness to let go of the views that divide society into 'them' and 'us', 'pure' and 'impure'.

"Every day, we see unprecedented violence all around us. At the heart of this violence is darkness, fear and mistrust. While we invent new modes of combating this ever spiralling violence, we must not forget the power of non-violence, dialogue and reason," he said.

"We must make a success of the laudable and welcome Swachh Bharat Mission. However, this also must be seen as just the beginning of a much larger and intense effort to cleanse minds and fulfil Gandhiji's vision in all its aspects," said Mukherjee.

Most of Muslim don't like India. per ye kutto ki taraha bhokne se kya hogaaaa. Asie to Glass bhi tut rhe hai or khya piya kuch hai nahi..... Bhokne wale kutto ki foj bankar rhe gaye hai.



Intolerance kuch hai nhi hai per baat baato dunia ka sabse bada muda bana diya... Ager kuch baska nhi to bhokne ki kya jarurt hai in chamcho ko.
 
आजकल मीडिया में जहां देखो जिसको देखो सहिषुणता-असहिषुणता का रोना रो रहा है और ये रोना रोने वाले सिर्फ शहरी वर्ग के लोग है , इन पर जरा सी क्या आन पड़ी देश में असहिषुणता का रोना शुरू कर दिया | सबने अपने तमगे लौटने शुरू कर दिये ! अरे जरा देहात के उस किसान का सब्र भी देखो जिसका आज़ादी के बाद भी शोषण हुआ जा रहा है | कहने को अपनों का राज है पर उसका शोषण आज भी जारी है और ये है कि फिर भी उफ तक नहीं कर रहा , कहीं कोई असहिषुणता का रोना नहीं रो रहा ! अब तक किसी ने इसकी बदहाली के लिए कोई तमगा नहीं लौटाया , कभी असहिषुणता की बात नहीं कही ? देश में चंद लोगों ने असहिषुणता की बात क्या कह दी सब कुछ तिलमिला उठा ! उस दिन की सोचो जो अब तक खामोश सब कुछ सह रहा है अगर उसने यह असहिषुणता का राग शुरू कर दिया तो देश क्या हाल होगा ? अभी भी वक़्त है यह जुमलेबाजी गाय बछड़े मंदिर मस्जिद छोड़ उसके पेट की चिंता शुरू कर दो अगर यह सहिषुणता की हद पार हो गई तो फिर ये गाये मंदिर मस्जिद जुमले सब धरे के धरे रह जाएंगे |

सहिष्णु मतलब गुलामी !
देश में दलित किसान पिछले लगभग पाँच हजार सालों से सब कुछ सहता चला आ रहा है , कभी कोई विद्रोह नहीं किया ना कोई आवाज़ ! बेचारा 'सहिष्णु' का बोझ ढोता आ रहा है | पिछले कुछ दिनों से देश में जो सहिष्णु-असहिष्णु के मुद्दे को लेकर जो माहौल बन रहा है उसे देख कर अब समझ आया कि इस वर्ग ने कभी कोई आवाज़ क्यों नहीं उठाई ? आज देश में कोई भी असहिष्णु की देश छोड़ने की बात कह दें तो उसकी राष्ट्र भक्ति पर ही सवाल उठ जाता है , देश की छवि खराब करने का इल्जाम लगा दिया जाता है ! यहीं कारण है कि इस राष्ट्रवाद के प्रति वफादारी के बोझ ने दलित किसान को गुलाम बना दिया ! मतलब साफ है कि आवाज़ मत उठाओ चुप चाप गुलामो की तरह सहते जाओ ! अगर आवाज़ उठाई शिकायत की तो देश की छवि खराब करने का इल्जाम लगा देशद्रोही करार दिये जाओगे ! जो पैसे वाले लोग है वो देश छोड़ने की बात कह देते है दलित किसान की ये मजबूरी है कि वो कहीं जा नहीं सकता इसलिए सब कुछ सह लेता है , और आखिर में लूटेरे उसकी इस सहनशीलता को राष्ट्रभक्ति का नाम दे देते है , फिर ये दलित किसान अपने हालात भूल इसी में खुश हो लेते है कि देखा असली राष्ट्रवादी हम ही है !
