Is it worth clearing the UGC NET exam nowadays?

[FONT=q_serif]UGC NET Exam is conducted every year and several aspirants appear in this exam. The main career option related to the UGC NET is lectureship and Research.[/FONT]
[FONT=q_serif]After qualifying the NET Exam one can get job in colleges and Universities of India as a lecturer.[/FONT]
[FONT=q_serif]Also if he /she qualifies NET can avail scholarship worth INR 25000 per month for further studies.[/FONT]
[FONT=q_serif]There are many other career options available after qualifying the UGC NET Exam.Some of them are as follows -[/FONT]

  • Work as a lecturer and Professor in the Colleges and Universities.
  • Write the Book Editor and Author in the various fields.
  • Work in the Research Field related to the Subject.
  • Guide students to prepare for the NET Exam.
  • Work as Project manager in the relevant field.
 
Hahahaha......it was always worth, but the difficulty is to clear same because of vast syllabus and right choice of elective option. I dropped the idea for same reason as I am a post graduate through correspondence but does not hold M.Com. and I use to be expert in commerce related aspects. I wasn't thorough during my MBA as it was corresponce and it was not my choice to study same.
