Dhoor (धूर) Dhur (धूर) is gotra of Jats found in Distt Jammu in J&K.
Origin
Jat Gotras Namesake
- Dhur (Jat clan) + Jati (Jat clan) = Dhurjati. Ratanpur Stone Inscription Of Prithvideva II - (Kalachuri) Year 915 (=1163) mentions that Brahmadeva, a feudatory of Kalachuri king Prithvideva II, ....constructed a temple of Dhurjati (Siva) at Mallâla and excavated a tank, evidently at the same place. The religions merit of the former he assigned to his lord, Prithvideva. Besides these, he built ten shrines of Tryambaka (Siva) and dug two lotus-ponds at some place, the name of which is lost. (p.503)[1]
- Dhur (Jat clan) = Dhurehati = Dhureti was place of find of Rewah Plates of the time of Trailokyamalladeva -(Kalachuri) Year 963 (=1212 AD). This set of two copper-plates was found in 1929 at Dhureti, a village about 7 miles from the Rewah town, by a cultivator while ploughing his field, and is now preserved in the Treasury at Rewah. [2]
- Dhur (धूर) (Jat clans) → Dhurni Malni (धूरनी मालनी). Dhurni Malni (धूरनी मालनी) is a village in Tamia tahsil in Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh. It is part of Patalkot.
