It is situated 12km away from sub-district headquarter Darbha (tehsildar office) and 24km away from district headquarter Jagdalpur. As per 2009 stats, Kamanar village is also a gram panchayat. 13.12.1982: Darbha-Kamanar with RO MR Mahawadi 27 km, inspected compartment-163 of Kanger Reserved Forest , found no of sal and bija trees felled about 3-4 months back. Called explanation of RA RK Yadu and instructed to send timber to Neganar depot.
