Surendra Singh

Surendra Singh[1] [2], an IAS officer of 2005 batch of Uttar Pradesh cadre, is the Divisional Commissioner of Meerut (आयुक्त, मेरठ मंडल). He is well known for honesty, integrity, and hard work in IAS fraternity. He has been honored over various occasions by the Hon'ble President and Prime Minister of India.

Personal life and Family

Surendra Singh was born and brought up in Kasimpur (Saidpur) village of Baldeo block in Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh. He was born and brought up in a Sikarwar Jat gotra farmer family of Shri Hari Singh and Smt. Lahar Kaur. His wife's name is Garima Singh and the couple has two daughters, named Varnika Singh and Agrima Singh. He has one elder brother Mr. Jitendra Singh[3], a senior officer of Rajasthan Legal Services (RLS-1992 batch) and incumbent President of "Rajasthan Vidhi Seva Parishad". Smt. Rajesh Kumari Chaudhary is his Sister-in-law (Bhabhi), who lives at Jaipur with her family.

Posts held

Before becoming as Divisional Commissioner[4] of Meerut (आयुक्त, मेरठ मंडल), he was serving as Secretary of the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. He has been posted as District Magistrate (DM) cum Collector of various districts including Varanasi (returning officer of Shri Narendra Modi Ji, the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India), Kanpur Nagar, Bareilly, Unnao, Pratapgarh, Muzaffar Nagar, Firozabad, Balarampur, and Sant Ravidas Nagar (Bhadohi).
