Khojiya (Somnai) खोजिया सोंनई is a village in Mathura district in Uttar Pradesh. It is a Jat village of Dusad gotra Jats. It is a well connected village. It is situated on railway line.

Demographics

The village has a total population of 670 out of them Jat population is about 588. Biggest population is of Dusad gotra Jats 532, Bharangar population is 23 and Badhautia population is 33.

History

According the records of Jaggas, Somn Baba of Jadon vanshi from Karauli came to this area in samvat 1023, defeated the Kirars residing here earlier and founded the village Somnai in his name. Dusad gotra of Jats are found in Khojiya, Sarua, Jangli, Bhudri, Sumera and Prema Ka Nagla villages. Dusad Jats also founded villages Ratauli, Dhehragarh, and Achhnera (Agra).
