sir

i've alphabetically shorted the list rajasthani language A-D on roman script i.e, AA first then AB.

shall i continue doing the same on entire list?

or should i proceed shorting it on devanagari script i.e first then .

I import it in Excel then then short it. and it can short on both scripts.

Hellow Burdak ji, I have added some text on the following page:

    http://www.jatland.com/home/Arya_Samaj

Most part of added text is in Hindi. You may suitably add some lines in English as the subject "Jats and Arya Samaj" seems to be an interesting one.

    indic characters...

sir, you appear to have figured out the browser fix... you can use IE 7 or mozilla, and that works well... the prob is with the encoding of the pages, and might not be fixed by importing the template... its a more complicated fix coz of existing data probs...

please hold off inserting indic characters on more pages (besides the raj lang page) for a week or so till we try and find a fix ? else we can just hope everyone upgrades the browsers to latest versions...

    Ndahiya 12:52, 2 March 2007 (EST)

Page names, section heads in hindi ?

sir, we need to restrict the ability to add page names in hindi, coz it can cause probs with indexing and also with referencing the pages... re section heads i am more neutral...

    Ndahiya 12:52, 2 March 2007 (EST)

    ....

On page names in hindi: i meant that we should only allow page titles to be in roman script for search engine indexing and other issues..

on the contributors: it might be easier to just put the contributor info at the bottom of every page? we can put them on the contributors page as well, but then someone will have to decide who all to put in that list (it should not be publically editable).. if you want to do that, I'm fine with it...

    Ndahiya 07:34, 14 March 2007 (EDT)

    Hello Burdakji

Hope you are well. I'm writing in context of a correction in Ch. Tarif Singh's details. He is not in Janata Dal anymore. Despiet being from a zamindar family himself, he became an ardent follower of Ch. Charan Singh early in life in school and till date following his ideals. After Ch. Charan Singh, he joined Congress along with Ajit Singh and refused to be a constant party changer when Ajit Singh left Congress. He was also offered cabinet ministership twice by VP Singh government, the decisions which were overridden by Ch. Devi Lal because of the Dangi controversy. In Mr. Chandrashekhar's government, Ch. Devi Lal then himself offered Ch. Tarif Singh ministership along with other incentives, which he refused being an honest and strict adherent of principles. Just like Ch. Charan Singh, due to his lack of tact and personal ambition and presence of other Jat leaders in congress, he has not been given a chance to serve his constituency again in Congress. He is now a member of All India Parliamentary Committee of Congress and an active social leader.

    Want to know source

    Hello Burdak Sir,

I really appreciate the time and efforts you have put in for writing and editing so many articles in wikipedia. As a general rule, if it is an article about Jats, or about some aspect of Shekhawati, there would be some signature of your contribution to the article.

I am writing to you, specifically, about article on 'Religion' of Jat people. In the article you have claimed about Buddhist past of Jats, the Jats not following superstitious Brahminical dictates and such. I wanted to know the basis for your assertions; though I am sure you are right about that. About Buddhism in particular, is it because most of Indians were Buddhists at some point of time before Adishankara influenced Brahminical philosophy converted them? Since Jats were Indians as well and therefore they had to be Buddhist too? Is this the logic? Or is there some other source?

It would be really nice if there were some sources mentioned with articles. I want to know more.

    Maneesh Mahlawat

    मनीष महलावत्

Hi Mahlawat, You have put a good question. The logic as you give is one of the reasons. Not much has been discussed about Jats and Buddhism so we need to search it more. Jats have been the first to adopt religions be it Buddhism, Jainism, Islam, Sikhism or Hinduism. It is obvious when all were Buddhist Jats were also Buddhist. We are considering Kushans, Mauryanas as Jats. Jat historians have provided references for these facts. That proves Jats had spread the Buddhism to their best efforts. I will put authentic references when it comes to me. Thanks, --Lrburdak 01:43, 7 June 2007 (EDT)

    Vedic Literature on Jatland Wiki

    Hellow Burdak ji,

I notice that Jatland Wiki's main page http://www.jatland.com/home/Main_Page is uneditable. I think it would be a good idea to put some short books by Swami Dayanand on the website. Would it be possible to add one more title below "Arya Samaj"? The new title could be "Vedic and Arya Samaj Literature" or a similar one. My intention is to put entire texts of some books by Swami Dayanand - the text will be in Hindi. Some of his books are short (लघु ग्रन्थ) such as गोकरुणानिधि, आर्योद्देश्यरत्‍नमाला, व्यवहारभानु, संस्कारविधि etc. Actually, 'Gokarunanidhi' is available on the website of Arya Samaj Jamnagar but it is a scanned version - they have also put up a scanned version of Satyarthprakash on their website. If we do a similar exercise, I hope it is not the violation of any copyright.

While typing a voluminous book like Satyarthprakash is time-consuming, the short ones mentioned above could be typed and put on Jatland Wiki. If a suitable slot at main page itself (or wherever you feel fit) is created, I can accomplish this task in a short time.

    Dndeswal 04:23, 20 August 2007 (EDT)

Thanks Deshwalji for nice suggestion about books from Vedic and Arya Samaj literature. See what you want is in Books on Jat History. --Lrburdak 05:34, 20 August 2007 (EDT)
Hellow Buurdak ji, I have added text to page http://www.jatland.com/home/Arya_Samaj_Literature. You may do necessary formatting, if needed. I feel the first 3-4 lines should have a little bigger font and be in the centre of the page. Shall add text of Karunanidhi later. But it is OK that both these 'Laghu-granths' of Swami Dayanand are contained on a single page like this? Dndeswal 08:22, 26 August 2007 (EDT)

Just an idea Sir. Dont you feel that once the page like आर्योद्देश्यरत्‍नमाला is posted, it should be uneditable i.e. for a book of literature, there is hardly anything to be edited by any other member except authorised editor (in this case yourself). If you feel fit, this page should be made uneditable. I have checked every 'matra' and dot etc. in Hindi text and it is a ditto copy of the original book. Once गोकरुणानिधि is posted by me, that also may be made uneditable. Please do as you deem fit. Dndeswal 01:15, 28 August 2007 (EDT)

Hellow Burdak ji - Today I have finished putting text for Gokarunanidhi and Aryoddeshyaratanmala. Both these pages are now complete and I do not see any scope for editing as the text has been typed from the original book, as-it-is. You may consider making both these pages uneditable. Regards. Dndeswal 07:48, 16 September 2007 (EDT)

Some very famous villages are missing from list !

    Hello,

I was going through the list of Jat-Villages in Bulandshahr District of Uttar Pradesh and found that very famous and big Jat Villages like Ahamdanagar, Unchaagaon, Baroda, Jatpura, Salempur and many more were missing. Please suggest how i can help, as i belong to this district.

    Gaurhav H Atri.

    Tips to edit

    Hi Virhammir ji,

You can add villages by clicking Jat Villages link and then edit option at the top of this page. Add names as already given and putt squire brackets. After saving of the page name will appear in red. By clicking on that page name it will open and add info of the village. Hope that will do. रामप्रसाद 'बिस्मिल' की आत्मकथा

Burdak Sir, I have put Autobiography of Ram Prasad Bismil on Wiki (in Hindi). It is only 50% now, shall add the rest of it in Fourth (last) chapter. Shall also write a short introduction of Bismil in English in first (Introduction) part. I have uploaded his picture on the site but it is somehow not visible on Autobiography page. Please rectify this so that picture is also available. I hope to complete the entire task in another 2-3 weeks. Later, after completion of this task, you can also put its link suitably at Wiki home page and wherever you deem fit. Thanks.

    Dndeswal 14:33, 23 November 2007 (EST)

Thanks for contribution, Deswalji. I have done necessary changes. You may like now. Looking to the length of article, Ramprasad Bismil, we can make separate pages foe each volume. What do you think? Laxman Burdak 02:17, 24 November 2007 (EST)

Updating of articles on Ch. Sir Chhotu Ram and Ch. Mool Chand Siyag

    Namaste Burdak ji.

I have added some Hindi text (quoted from a book) on Ch. Chhotu Ram. When you have time, please see to it.

Similarly, I have done the English translation of wiki page on Ch. Mool Chand Siyag. Have added a short para (penultimate one) regarding Ch. Siyag's cooperation with Ch. Chhotu Ram. But you have to do hyperlinking of words and make some corrections,in my English translation, as I am unfamiliar with Marwar region and hence, may have written wrong spellings of names of villages etc.

You may also like to highlight both these pages on homepage of wiki. I think the one on Mool Chand Siyag is already there. I think you may request Nitin to make some provision on Jatland's home page where "What's New in Wiki" may be prominently displayed. In the absence of it, members and readers are not attracted towards wiki pages.

    Hi Laxman

    Hi Laxman,

Please can you merge Jats into the main article Jat people so we have Jat people as main starting point this will make it much better. Jats should be put into the Jat people article so we just have Jat people on main page because Jat people is the main starting point. Having Jats there is confusing. Therefore, please can you merge Jats into the main article Jat people so we have Jat people as main starting point this will make it much better, thanks friend.--Jat50 21:10, 22 December 2007 (EST)

    Jatland Wiki in new format

    Hi Deswalji,

I have formatted the main page of Jatland Wiki. I am not that techie but tried to impropve. If our some techies can suggest the improvements, that will be better. We need to bring more people to contribute on Jatland Wiki. My newest article is चौधरी रामदान डऊकिया. Translation of this article in English can be of good use.

    Regards,

    English translation of Ramdan Dookiya

Thanks Deswalji, It is a great contribution. The English translation of Ramdan Dookiya by you is excellent. In the process of checking I have done minor corrections. Your question marks have been explained with explanatory notes. Thanks. Laxman Burdak 00:50, 10 February 2008 (EST)

    "Veerbhoomi Haryana"

Hellow Burdak ji - thanks for noticing the page. Only the last few paragraphs remain to be added. I would complete this in a day or two and shall let you know. Bifurcating the pages is a good idea. Dndeswal 11:08, 4 April 2008 (EDT)

Reformatting and bifurcation of pages by you is excellent, Burdak ji. The text addition from my side is also complete now - the whole book is there on the pages. I have today done a few minor adjustments (gaps between paras etc.) so that the title may look more attractive. You may hyperlink more words in the pages, as you deem fit.

I want to point out that following route appears on each page :

Main Page < Dharmpal Singh Dudee < Haryana < Veerbhoomi Haryana

I think there is some fault which needs to be rectified - it should be "books on Jat history", rather than "Dharmpal Singh Dudee". Please give a thought to this.

I intend to go through the text once more, for comparison with the book, as a final "proof reading", so that minor typing errors, if any, may be rectified. After a few days, you may make the pages of book as 'uneditable'.

You may also consider putting the link of "Veerbhoomi Haryana" on the main wiki page under "What's New" - to attract readership. Please also put the link of Swami Omanand's page under "What's New", since I am going to expand it considerably in the next few days.

    Thanks. Dndeswal 01:44, 5 April 2008 (EDT)

    About village Jalalpur

Jalalpur: This is mentioned as Jat village which is not correct. Actually it is a 100% muslim village and not a single Jat family lives there. I know this because my mother is from Kharkhari (hardly 300 metres in distance from Jalalpur). I have edited information about Kharkhari too but not Jalalpur as I wanted to bring it to your notice first.

Kharkhari is a village of Chauhan jats and not Tomars. All the jats in Kharkhari trace back their ancestary to Jesi baba. Jesi came from Ramala village after some British officer gifted him land in Kharkhari. Till 2-3 decades back people from Kharkhari used to cultivate lands in Ramala too which they gifted back to their relatives in Ramala. Vijay123

    Haridwar

Sir, I have uploaded a few images on this page (Haridwar). Images are not visible on page. Please rectify this error. Dndeswal 12:11, 22 April 2008 (EDT)

    .

    Hi Laxman

Hi Laxman, I hope you are well. When you use Professor B.S Dhillon's e-book for citations do NOT cite his book ONLY but cite the ORIGINAL references he has used in his book. This will make the information INDEPENDENT. You should cite the PRIMARY references he is USING not directly his book. For example for Jat Village population figures you are citing his book, you should NOT be doing this, you SHOULD CITE his references he used e.g. 1911 census of British Punjab - Major General Arthur Edward Barstow [1]. ALWAYS use Professor B.S Dhillon's references he USED IN HIS BOOK as cites not the book its self, this is the way the book was designed as a collection of references for research. Best regards.--Jat50 15:07, 24 April 2008 (EDT)
