Dawana (दवाना)[1] Davana (दवाना)[2] is gotra of Jats in Rajasthan and Pakistan.


It is said to be originated from Darvi (दर्वी) of Nagavansh. [3]

Distribution in Pakistan

The Dawana are a major clan of the Rajput tribe. They are originally from Ludhiana and migrated to Punjab in 1012. After a number of wars they shifted to Jhang and surrounding areas.

According to 1911 census Multan District had a population of Dawana Muslim Jat clan: 1,210.[4]

Distribution in Rajastan

Dawana named towns are in Rewadi tahsil in Haryana and Sarada tahsil in in Udaipur District in Rajasthan.
