Mundka (मुंडका) is a Village in North-West Delhi. The village has sizable population of Lakra also known as Bud Chauhan gotra of Jats.

Location

It is situated on National Highway No. 10 (Delhi-Rohtak-Firozpur). Since the village's agricultural land has been converted into new residential colonies or factories near the highway, this village has been more or less urbanised. Neighbourig villages of Nangloi Jat, Bakkarwala etc. also fall into this category.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[1] Mundka had a population of 43,898. Males constitute 56% of the population and females 44%. Mundka has an average literacy rate of 68%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 75%, and female literacy is 59%. In Mundka, 16% of the population is under 6 years of age. And most of population is Jats Community. This village comes under 25th no Assembly of Delhi. Former minister Sahib Singh Verma was also born and brought up in this village. Moreover this is an advanced village of Delhi State.

Monuments

In addition, Dada Bhero Mandir (Temple) is well renowned temple everywhere.

Now, the village will also be well known for Metro Rail. It started 2009 onwards.
