Hoshiyar Singh Thakran (1930 – 2006) was an eminent educationist, Arya Samaji and social worker of Delhi, India. He was born on 8 August 1930 in village Bajitpur thakran of Northwest Delhi. Till his retirement in 1996 he was principal in various central high schools under the directorate of Education government of Delhi. He founded Engineering College in Murthal village of Haryana. He also founded Sir Chhotu Ram Education Trust, Polytechnic and school in Kanjhawala village of Delhi. He was Chairman of executive committee of Gurukul Kangri Haridwar, Kanya Gurukul Narela, Tatesar and Gurukul Loa Khurd. He was Chairman of executive committee of Sonipat Jat College, Haryana. He was thrice president of All India Jat Mahasabha.He was a true Jat who loved his community from the bottom of his heart. He was always there when the jet community needed him. He was a regular at jet panchayats and was also present at the World Jat Mahasabha in Delhi.
He died on 23 may 2006 at the age of 76.
