Ishwar Singh Bhamu

Ishwar Singh Bhamu (ईश्वरसिंह भामू ) was a leading Freedom Fighter who took part in Shekhawati farmers movement in Rajasthan. He was born on samvat 1942 kartik sudi dooj in the family of Chaudhary Mota Ram Bhamu in village Bhainrupura in Sikar district in Rajasthan. He started social service from 1935 when Jat Prajapati Mahayagya was organized at Sikar against the misrule and oppression of farmers by the Jagirdars. His village was attacked by Rao Kalyan Singh, the Jagirdar of Sikar in 1935. His house was damaged and Ishwar Singh Bhamu along with his wife were badly injured. He was also badly injured in Khudi kand. He was member of the committee appointed in 1946 with the efforts of Thakur Bheru Singh General for agreement between Jat farmers and the Rajput thikanedars. He strongly pleaded for the agreement but thikanedars refused. He was one of the important leaders of the farmers' organization constituted in 1945-46 for the Jaipur state.

He was elected MLA in 1952.[1]
