Zalim Singh Jat Hanga (Agre Jat) was born during the British rule in India. He belongs to village Kurkanda of Mathura (at present Kursanda in Sadabad tehsil of Hathras district), he revolted in India's struggle for freedom in 1857 along with Ch. Deokaran Singh Hanga. Both the rebels were hanged by the Britishers.[1] He was hanged on 01 November 1857 at village Khadouli (near Mathura) along with rebel Deokaran.

Martyrs (History)[2]

When Jats under Shahmal of Baghpat revolted against Britishers in 1857 while Shahmal attained martyrdom on 21th of July fighting British forces in Barout. The rebels of Mathura region accumulated under the leadership of Deokaran Jat, who was a powerfully influential landlord (Ẑamīṅdār) of village Kursanda, more than 350 rebels accumulated and looted the police station of British of Sadabad (in last week of October 1857) and then destroyed it then burnt it, Jats declared themselves independent and sovereign under Deokaran Jat. After few hours a large British Army by the help of traitor Th. Samant Sinh (who recieved a village jagir in Aligarh for helping Britishers against rebels) have captured Deokaran Jat and Ch. Zalim Singh, and hanged them on 1 Nomember 1857 at village Khadouli (near Mathura). Britishers successfully suppressed the great rebellion of 1857. It has to be noted that totally 7 lives were taken during this 'Moment at Sadabad Oct.1857'
