Ch. Govind Singh Dotasara

Govind Singh Dotasara is a three times member of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. He was Minister of State for primary and secondary education (Independent Charge), he was also the Minister for Tourism and Devasthan in the Government of Rajasthan.[1] He has been elected Congress MLA from Laxmangarh Assembly constituency in 2023. Early life

He was born on 1 October 1964 at Kripa Ram Ki Dhani (कृपाराम जी की ढाणी), village in Laxmangarh tahsil of Sikar district in the family of Ch. Mohan Singh Dotasra and Smt. Rupi Devi. His father Mohan Singh Dotasara was a government teacher.

Education and family details

Ch. Govind Singh passed B.Com from University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, in 1984, and LL.B, in the year 1988. Married to Smt. Sunita Devi Dotasara, he has 2 sons. By profession, he is an Advocate.

His schooling took place in the village and after this, he studied in B.Com. from University of Rajasthan. After that B.Ed. completed and completed LL.B. studies. On March 4, 1984. After completing studies, Govind Singh Dotasara started practicing in the Sikar Court and for nearly 20 years, he has been named as the best known lawyer in Sikar.

Political career

Dotasra stepped into politics in 2005 and successfully contested the panchayat elections. He was elected as Pradhan of Panchayat Samiti, Laxmangarh, Sikar (Rajasthan) in 2005.

In 2008, he contested the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly election for the first time and won the seat of Laxmangarh by a close margin of 34 votes against independent candidate Dinesh Joshi.

Ch. Govind Singh won the election (14th Vidhan Sabha) in December 2013 from Laxmangarh constituency, on Congress party's ticket. He defeated former union minister of state and 3 time MP Subhash Maharia with a margin of 10,723 in Rajasthan Legislative Assembly election. In this election his party Congress had lost 160+ seats in the state.[2] He was also a member of Public Accounts Committee of Rajasthan Assembly 2015-16.[3] In 2013 assembly, he was the Deputy Whip of congress in Rajasthan Legislative Assembly.

He was again elected from the same constituency in the elections held in December 2018.

Dotasra is the President of district Congress Committee, Sikar since 2011 and Vice President of Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee (RPCC) since 2014. Currently, he is in-charge of District Congress Committee, Nagaur (Rajasthan).


Congress Party leadership decided to give a larger responsibility to Dotasra ahead of 2018 Rajasthan polls by appointing him as Chairman of Media and Communication Committee on 5th October 2018.[4]

Achievements

He was awarded with the honour of Best MLA for the year-2016.[5]

He has sanctioned to rename 15 government schools in different districts of the state after the martyrs. [6]

सर्वश्रेष्ठ विधायक का सम्मान समारोह

जयपुर | शांतिलाल चपलोत, गुलाबचंद कटारिया, गोविंद सिंह डोटासरा सहित 12 को सर्वश्रेष्ठ विधायक के तौर पर सम्मान मिला। मंगलवार 6 मार्च 2018 को राजस्थान विधानसभा में आयोजित एक कार्यक्रम में इन्हें सम्मानित किया गया। लंबे समय से विधायकों को यह सम्मान नहीं मिल रहा था, जिसकी शुरूआत फिर से की गई है।

विधानसभा में आयोजित समारोह में वर्षवार सर्वश्रेष्ठ विधायक के रूप में सम्मानित सम्मानित विधायक थे:

इस मौके पर सीएम वसुंधरा राजे ने कहा कि विधायकों के लिए विधानसभा ही सबसे अच्छी पाठशाला है। सत्ता और प्रतिपक्ष सदन में लोकतंत्र के दो पहिए होते हैं। इसलिए सत्ता पक्ष और प्रतिपक्ष के साथी विधायकों के साथ हमारा व्यवहार समान रूप से सरल होना चाहिए। पक्ष-प्रतिपक्ष की भावना से ऊपर उठकर ही सदन के विभिन्न सदस्यों को सर्वश्रेष्ठ विधायक के रूप में चयन किया गया है। इस अवसर पर विधानसभा अध्यक्ष कैलाश मेघवाल ने राज्यपाल कल्याण सिंह का संदेश पढ़ा। चुने गए सर्वश्रेष्ठ विधायकों को विधानसभा अध्यक्ष ने प्रशस्ति पत्र, मुख्यमंत्री ने स्मृति चिन्ह, उपाध्यक्ष राव राजेन्द्र सिंह ने गुलदस्ता, संसदीय कार्यमंत्री राजेन्द्र राठौड़ ने श्रीफल तथा नेता प्रतिपक्ष रामेश्वर लाल डूडी ने शाल भेंट कर सम्मानित किया।

Rajasthan Assembly Elections in November 2023

Govind Singh Dotasra of the Indian National Congress won the seat by defeating Subhash Mehria of the Bharatiya Janata Party with a margin of 18970 votes.
