Hasdeo River (हसदेव नदी) is the largest tributary of Mahanadi River. The river flows in the state of Chhattisgarh. It joins Mahanadi River near Shiladehi (Birra), village in tahsil Champa of Janjgir-Champa district in Chhattisgarh.. Hasdeo Bango Dam is constructed across this river.

Course

The river originates in Kaimur Hill (Devgarh pahadi) about 910.0 m (2,985.6 feet) above sea level, in a place about 10.0 km from Sonhat in Koriya district. The total length of the river is 333.0 km , and drainage area is 9856 km2. The major tributary of Hasdeo River is Gej River.

The river flows through the Hasdeo Arand forest.

हसदेव नदी इन्द्रावती नदी

यह महानदी की प्रमुख सहायक नदी है तथा कोरबा के कोयला क्षेत्र में तथा चांपा मैदान में प्रवाहित होने वाली प्रमुख नदी है । यह नदी सरगुजा जिले की कैमूर की पहाड़ियों से निकलकर कोरबा, बिलासपुर जिलों में बहती हुई महानदी में मिल जाती है । हसदो का अधिकांश प्रवाह क्षेत्र ऊबड़-खाबड़ है । इसकी कुल लंबाई 209 किमी. और प्रवाह क्षेत्र 7.210 किसी. है.
