Gandevra or Gandevda (गन्देवड़ा) is a village in tehsil Kairana of Muzaffarnagar district in Uttar Pradesh. Its earlier name was Aurangabad. It is a Jat village of Kuhad gotra Jats. It is a well connected village. It is situated at a distance of 130 km from Delhi.

Demographics

The village has a population of about about 250 families. Jats are only having 20 families. Jat Gotras are Kuhad, Garud and Panwar. Other castes include 100 houses of SC, 30 houses of ST, 40 houses of Muslims in the village.

History

The village is about 950 years old. Sahab Singh Kuhad from Sonipat Haryana came to this place and settled in the village. This village has contributed to the freedom movement of India. The revolutionaries use to take shelter here.
