Dr. Sunita Malhan

Malhan (मल्हान)[1] /(मलहान)[2] Malhan (माल्हान)[3] is a great Jat gotra found in Haryana and Rajasthan. Malhan's are spread in Western Uttar Pradesh , Punjab and Pakistan.

In Mahabharata

Sabha Parva, Mahabharata/Book II Chapter 27 mentions clans subjugated by Bhima, which include Mallana in shloka 3:

ततॊ गॊपाल कच्छं च सॊत्तमान अपि चॊत्तरान
मल्लानाम अधिपं चैव पार्दिवं वयजयत परभुः (II.27.3)


The descendants of Massagetae (the great Jats) were said to be known as Malhan. [4]
