Bidiyasar or Bidyasar (बिडियासर) gotra Jats live in Districts Nagaur, Pali,Ajmer, Sikar, Jhunjhunu,Sri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Bikaner, Churu and Barmer in Rajasthan. Wadiyar (वड़ीयार) gotra Jats live in Mandsaur, Ratlam districts in Madhya Pradesh

Origin

Bidyasar are the descendants of king Bidya Datta (बिद्या दत्त), who ruled over Ujjain during 9th century.

History

Bidyasar are the descendants of king Bidya Datta who ruled over Ujjain during 9th century. It is said that the ruling family of Mysore state is "Vadyar" by gotra and are the descendant of king Bidya Datta.

In Rajasthan, they first came to Runicha (Jaiselmer) and then to Rodod (Jodhpur) and Rataoo (Nagaur) in 12th century and occupied the position of village Chaudhary. His son Shri Kamal Singh, a great devotee of "Goddess Dhadhimati" of Goth Mangalod later on changed the name of Dharsunda to Khiyala. Bidyasar Choudhary of Khiyala used to collect land revenue on behalf of Delhi throne for three decades , before Jodhpur state was carved out.

Once a Bidiyasar Chaudhary went to hand over the tax to Delhi ruler. Delhi King married his daughter to him and converted his religion. His descendants are Muslim Bidiyasars in Delhi.It is been heard that they still visit the temple in Goth Mangalod.

Variants

Bidyasar family of Khiyala migrated to different parts of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and Delhi and are being also called as Bidyar, Vadyar, Wadiyar (वड़ीयार), Bhidasara, Badesara, Khayalia, Bidarda, Sara etc. depending on the local dialects.
