Kohad

Kohad (कोहाड) Koharia (कोहाड़िया) Kawhad (कव्हाड) is a gotra of Jats found in Punjab and Maharashtra. They are the descendants of Kohada. Vamsa Brahmana mentions a person, Mitra Vinda Kohada. [1] Shravana Datta is also called a Kohada whereas Gobhila Grihasutra speaks of a tradition of the Kohadas. [2] The Kohadas are now a Jat clan. [3]

Koharia population is 2,370 in Patiala district. [4]
