Sohal (सोहल) Sohar (सोहर) Sahu (सहु) is Jat Gotra found in Punjab, Haryana,Rajasthan. These gotras are Chandravanshi.

There is reference to Sohar Kings in the Mahabharata. They are found in large number in the desert areas. In Western Punjab they are Muslim Jats.

The Sahu Jats are found in villages Basain in Gurgaon and 360 villages in district of Ganganagar of Bikaner State.

Distribution

Sohal population is 1,800 in Patiala district. [1] Sohal population is 3,864 in Amritsar district. [2]

According to B S Dhillon the population of Sohal clan in Jalandhar district is 4,200.[3]

In Hoshiarpur district the Sohal population is 570. [4]
