Tada(टाडा) or Tada(ताडा) Tara (ताड़ा) or Tanda (टांडा) or Tandi (टांडी) is gotra of Jats found in Distt Bhiwani in Haryana and Western Rajasthan (Jodhpur, Nagaur, Pali and Barmer); Harda in Madhya Pradesh. Also found in Gujarat. Samavidhana Brahmana speaks of a dynasty of Tandis. [1] [2] They seem to be of Iranan origin and descendants of asura Tarakasura, whose father's name was Tara.[3]
