Rana (राणा) Rānā (राणा) Rana (राना) is a gotra of Jats in Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh in India. This gotra used as surname is based on title Rana. They were great warriors hence awarded this title. [1] Rana is the ruling clan of Jat rulers of Gohad in Madhya Pradesh and Dholpur in Rajasthan. They were originally Bamraulias from Bamrauli village near Agra. "Rana" is also used as a surname by Jatrana and Chaudaranasaroha
