Pachhande (पछान्दे) [1]Pachhandara (पछन्दरा)[2] [3] Pachhala (पछाला)/Panchhande (पंछादे)/Pachhade (पछादे) [4] was the category of Jats in Uttar Pradesh [5], Haryana and Uttarakhand.[6]who had from West (Punjab).

Origin

  • They are said to have come from Persia from the western side. [7]
  • They are also said to have come during Banda Singh Bahadur and Baba Baghel Singh Dhaliwal assault between(1714-1783).

History

H. W. Bellew writes that Pagh is apparently the same as Pazh and Phog of other Baloch tribes, and as the Pash and Bash (Bashgali) of the Kafir, and may stand for Pashai, before noticed ; or it may stand for Pachhada, Jat, " of the Pachha", which again may stand for Pashai.[8]

In Afghanistan they are known as Pash, Pazh, Pachhada (पछादा) Baloch Jats found in Afghanistan.[9]

पछादे जाटों का इतिहास

ठाकुर देशराज लिखते हैं कि सिकन्दर के आक्रमण से कई सौ वर्ष बाद, ईसाई तथा मुस्लिम संघर्षों से, वे ईरान की ओर से भारत को अवश्य लौटे जो भाटी, पच्छादे और ढे नामों से प्रसिद्ध हैं। उनके साथ देसवाली और मांझे के जाटों ने बहुत समय तक समानता का व्यवहार नहीं किया था। [11]

राकेश सरोहा[12] लिखते हैं कि अन्य जातियों की तरह जाट जाती में भी कई उप जातियाँ है यथा - सिख जाट, देसवाली जाट, बागड़ी जाट, मारवाड़ी जाट, पच्छान्दे जाट, वैष्णव जाट, आदि। पश्चिमी उत्तर प्रदेश, हरियाणा के फरीदाबाद जनपद व उत्तराखंड के कुछ भागों में जाटों का एक ऐसा वर्ग रहता है जिन्हें पच्छान्दे या पंजाबी जाट कहा जाता है। ये जाट करीब 250 वर्ष पहले पश्चिम (पंजाब) से आकर यहाँ बसे थे जिनमें अधिकतर सीख जाट थे।

पच्छान्दे जाटों के प्रमुख गोत्र - चाहल, सिधू, गिल, धारीवाल, ग्रेवाल, बराड़, टिवाना, ढिल्लो, ओलख, दयोल, रंधावा, मान, चट्ठा, निर्वाण, बिसला, सराव, गोदारा, ऊंटवाल, सिरोही, गुलिया, सेंखों, महल, मुंढेर, कालेर, गहलोत, पँवार, सिवाग, पूनीया, नेहरा, कंग, विर्क, कुहाड़, सिंधु, भुललार, घुम्मन, बाजवा, अहलावत, आदि पछादे जाटों के प्रमुख गोत्र हैं।

जनसंख्या - पच्छान्दे जाटों की जनसंख्या 5 लाख के करीब है। ये प्रमुख रूप से पश्चिमी उत्तर प्रदेश, हरियाणा के कुछ भागों में तथा उत्तराखंड के जाट बहुलक्षेत्रों में प्रमुख रूप से 500 से अधिक गांवों में निवास करते हैं। ये भारत की जाट आबादी का करीब 2 प्रतिशत, पच्छान्दे जाटों की जनसंख्या में 95 प्रतिशत हिन्दू धर्मी और 5 प्रतिशत सिख धर्मी हैं। इनमें धर्म का भेद नहीं है। आपस में विवाह-शादियाँ होती हैं।

Notable persons

  • Ganga Das (Munder) (1823-1913) - Ganga Das was a revered saint of udasi sect and Hindi poet from hapur district in Uttar Pradesh. He was born in 1823 in village Rasulpur Bahlolpur of Hapur district in the family of panjabi Jatt of Munder Gotra. His childhood name was Gangabaksh but became Gangadas after consecration in udasi sect under Baba Vishnudas Udasin at Sedepur district Bulandshahr at the age of 12. He died on bhadrapada krishnashtami in year 1913. His contribution to hindi poetry has been considered unparallel.
  • Kr. Virendra Singh Dhana (Chattha) - Was from the royal jatt family of Dhana village and known for his honesty and simple living. MLA Garhmukteswar(1980-85), (first district council presiedent of Meerut),(Ex-presiedent Sugarcane Fedression, Lucknow).
  • Kr. Rahul Singh Dhana (Chattha) - Son of Kr. Virendra Singh Dhana.
  • Shashank Shekhar Singh - Was a Pilot and Ex- cabinet scretary in Mayawati goverment (2007-2012).
  • Baba Joga Singh Chahal (Chahal) - (18th century)- He was a great Jatt warrior.
  • Choudhary Samarpal Singh (Siddhu) - Born on 19 decmber 1923 into Siddhu Jat family in the village Ahrola Mafi of Dhanaura tehsil, Amroha district, now living in Kundeswari village of Kashipur district (Uttrakhand). He was Cooperative Advisor to Chief Minister of Punjab from 1961-62, also was Dy. Director (Farms) in Pantnagar Agricultural University, He was Vice-Chairman, Nainital District Co-operative Bank (1964-65). Shri Singh, in his quest for knowledge, has visited many countries in Europe and America to acquire valuable information about Agriculture and cooperation. He is a prolific writer and many of his articles on Agriculture and Cooperation have been published in Leading National magazines. MLA from Kanth Vidhansabha U.P(1985-89), Minister of Co-operative U.P (1988-89), State Minister Uttranchal (2005), several time Iffco director (1997-1993), Vice Presiedent of Iffco (1977-1984), Rate Control Officer (1951), studied at Belgrade University, subject- Agriculture Co operative (1957-1959).
  • Ch Chandrapal Singh - From Papsara village in Amroha district and remain many time MP, MLA and Cabinet Minister in U.P. goverment.
  • Renu Chaudhary - Presiedent of district Council, Amroha and daughter in law of Ch Chandrapal Singh (formet MP and Cabinet Minister).
